Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information MyAiringList and AiringList (together, "the Site", "we", "us") collect when you use them, why, and what choices you have. The Site is a personal, non-commercial hobby project built by Morteux that displays your MyAnimeList (MAL) or AniList (AL) watching list as a weekly broadcast calendar, and its related "Discover Season" and "MySeasonalList" tools.
We do not require you to create an account. To use the Site you simply type in a public MyAnimeList or AniList username, which is sent to that platform's own public API to fetch your list - the Site never asks for your MAL/AL password and cannot access anything private.
1. Information we process
We handle three kinds of data:
- The username you type in. It's sent to the MyAnimeList and/or AniList public APIs to fetch your list, and is stored temporarily in your browser's page URL for as long as you keep that calendar open.
- Basic usage records in our database. Each time someone other than the site's developer looks up a calendar, we store the username entered, the date, and which site (MAL or AL) was used, in a MongoDB database. This is only used to get a rough idea of how many people use the Site and isn't linked to any other personal information.
- Preferences stored in your browser. Cookies and "local storage" that remember settings like your theme, display timezone, or which lists to include, so you don't have to set them again on every visit. See the tables below for the full list.
Like virtually any website, the hosting provider (Vercel) also processes standard technical data needed to serve pages, such as your IP address and request logs, under its own privacy policy.
2. Cookies we set
These are small values the Site asks your browser to send back on later visits. They are "strictly necessary" style preference cookies: none of them are used for advertising or analytics purposes.

3. Local storage in your browser
We also use your browser's "local storage", which behaves like a cookie that is never sent to our server - it only ever lives on your own device, purely to remember display preferences:

4. Advertising and analytics cookies
We plan to show advertising on the Site through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. We may also use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used. If and when either of these is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may set their own cookies or similar technologies in your browser to serve ads (which may be personalized based on your browsing activity, unless you opt out) and measure traffic. We do not control these cookies directly; they are governed by Google's own policies:
You can opt out of personalized advertising, or of Google Analytics tracking, at any time through Google's Ads Settings, the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or your browser's own cookie and tracking-protection settings. This page will be updated once advertising is actually live on the Site, together with a cookie consent notice where legally required (e.g. for visitors in the EU/EEA/UK).
5. Third-party services
- MyAnimeList API and AniList API - used to fetch the anime list, titles, cover images, and broadcast schedules you see on the calendar, based on the username you provide.
- MongoDB Atlas - hosts the basic usage records described in section 1.
- Vercel - hosts and serves the Site.
6. Your choices
- You can clear the cookies and local storage described above at any time from your browser's settings; the Site will simply fall back to its defaults on your next visit.
- You can toggle On-Hold / Plan to Watch inclusion, theme, NSFW level, timezone, and other preferences at any time from the Configuration window, without needing to clear anything manually.
- Since the Site doesn't have accounts, there's no personal profile to delete beyond the entries described in section 1 - if you'd like your username removed from our usage records, reach out through the contact details below.
7. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when advertising is enabled. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
